Scholarship Qualifications
The Foundation will annually offer recruitment scholarships to Residents graduating from Mercy Health Partners residency programs who commit to practicing Osteopathic medicine in Muskegon County, Oceana County, or northern Ottawa County.
|
 |
| On a case-by-case basis, the Foundation will consider scholarships for Osteopathic physicians for fellowships and residencies at programs accredited by the American Osteopathic Association or the American Council of Graduate Medical Education and loan repayment grants to graduates of Osteopathic residencies provided the Foundation determines there is a need for the specialty in the service area of WMOA, there is a need for the scholarship or grant, and the Osteopathic physician provides the Foundation with assurances satisfactory to the Foundation that the physician will practice the specialty in the geographical service area of the Western Michigan Osteopathic Association. |
Decision Making Policy
The Osteopathic Foundation Grant & Scholarship Committee reviews scholarship applications on an annual basis and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors, who is the decision-making body for granting scholarships. At its option, the Grant & Scholarship Committee may request personal interviews.
Time Frame for Issuing Scholarships
All scholarships are granted on an annual basis. Interested applicants must submit their completed applications to the Foundation by May 1.
